Description
I have been looking for a Black Tern nesting colony near Cyrus, Minnesota for a couple years already. Yesterday I finally found this baby black tern! The water on the lake was very high so I could kayak through the cattails fairly easy. As I paddle the screaming adults kept multiplying, so I new I was close. This little fella was so small I almost didn't see him. He couldn't even get away because he was too small to climb over the floating reeds. I put him back on the nest for this photograph and his mother sat down beside him as I left.
I have uploaded two images of baby Black Tern chicks. Both appear on the coffee mug. If you are purchasing a duvet cover I recommend a pillow or two of one or both images.
